Spring Show - Legends & Lore!

Good evening! We have our upcoming Spring Show—Legends & Lore!

Our Spring Show will have 2 performances: Friday, April 17th at 6pm and Saturday, April 18th at 2pm. If your skater is only able to make one performance, please send me an email regarding the conflict. By my review of school calendars, I know that Newark has prom on that Saturday. 

Some information to know:

• Registration will open Wednesday, March 11th and close Sunday, March 22nd and must be completed ONLINE. Instructions are as follows:

  • Please go to: https://lgria.finnlyconnect.com/registration/activitylist

  • On the left side of the page, filter by Activity (select Shows).

  • You will then have the list of options for your skater(s) participation.

• Skaters who have passed the ISI Freestyle 4 test and have also signed up to participate in the freestyle and/or dance number may choose to perform a solo in the show. There are no duets or ensembles during the Spring Show.

  • Music selections must meet the following criteria:

    • We are seeking songs that are fantasy oriented and not specifically Disney/princess themed. Some suggested movies to explore (though not limited to these options):

      • Alice in Wonderland

      • Avatar

      • Fantasia

      • Fantastic Beasts

      • Harry Potter

      • Lord of the Rings

      • Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children

      • Narnia

      • Pete’s Dragon

      • Star Wars

      • The Hobbit

      • The Neverending Story

      • Wizard of Oz

      • World of Warcraft

  • Skaters will need to list their top 3 song choices (or list TBD) for consideration and approval. I will send an email approval of the song selection—skaters (and coaches) must wait for this before beginning to choreograph. 

    • Seniors will have priority for music and will be approved first.

    • We ask that parent’s please review the lyrics of your skater’s choices as this will be a factor when approving music.

• Seating for this year’s performances will be in our reserved seating in our permanent bleachers, folding chairs on the ice, or special needs seating in the lobby viewing area. We will no longer use the on-ice temporary bleachers.

• Tickets will go on sale on Monday, April 6th at 12pm and we will be limiting families in the following manner to ensure equal access for all families:

  • No more than 8 tickets (per performance) for our permanent bleachers.

Anticipated Rehearsal Dates

Please note, your skater will be assigned to a group for the spring show. Group assignments can change from show to show based on skater participation and demographics of the various levels. Your skater’s group assignment will determine what day(s) and time(s) their rehearsals will occur. Specific rehearsal schedules will be communicated on Tuesday, March 24th by email—I anticipate that your skater will have 2 rehearsals each week, aiming for one weekday and one weekend where the schedule permits.

• Friday, March 27th 5-8pm

• Saturday, March 28th 3:30-6:30pm

Week #2

• Thursday, April 2nd 5:30-8pm

Week #3

• Wednesday, April 8th 5-8pm

• Thursday, April 9th 5-8pm 

• Friday, April 10th 5-8pm

• Saturday, April 11th 3:30-8pm

• Sunday, April 12th 11-2pm and 3:30-6:30pm
